- 31 Jan 2009 - RBG "Stories in the Snow". The four of us spent a great two hours with Alasdair, Kyra, Keaghan and Ailish at the RBG today. We took part in a walk called "Stories in the Snow" which was all about reading animal tracks. We saw a lot of deer evidence (tracks, droppings, beds, rubbings, chews), as well as the tracks of a hare, a fox, and more.
- 08 Mar 2009 - Catriona's 3rd Birthday Party. Catriona had four friends over to celebrate her third birthday, Ailish, Dante, Max, and Rosie. The kids had a good time. Catriona was thrilled to have an actual birthday party. (since Graeme had had one in December)
- 05 Apr 2009 - Bruce Trail Hike with the Patersons. Today went for a great hike along the trails just south of Rockcliffe in Waterdown. The kids had a marvelous time, including mucking through streams.
- 01-03 July 2009 - Camping at Long Point Provincial Park with the Xaviers. This was Catriona's first camping trip and she loved it. It was also our first car-camping trip in a very long time. We really enjoyed it. The site was good, the beach was nice. A bit more warmth would have made the beach more.... summery. But that's just details. It was very pleasant, really. Windy... quite windy. But that kept the bugs down to near-zero, so we'll take it!
- 02 Aug 2009 - Jon & Sergio's Wedding. This was the first wedding in years for our group of friends. Much fun was had by all.
- 10-12 Aug 2009 - Camping in Mont Tremblant Provincial Park. This was Catriona's second camping trip, and she had a marvelous time. Jim/Dad/Grandpa joined us and was a welcome addition. We based at Lac Escalier's campground, which is a car camping site (complete with a washroom/shower building outfitted with sinks for washing dishes). From there we ventured forth to do canoe exploration up the "Riviere du Diable", as well as driving down to Lac Monroe to do a hike they call "La Roche", which rewarded us with a terrific lookout.
- 31 Oct 2009 - Halloween. Catriona as R2D2 and Graeme as Darth Vader. Doug did the pirate pumpkin, which one an award of sorts!
